Summary: | Sophocles' Oedipus Tyrannus, one of 14 productions in the series, Drama: Play, Performance, Perception, is structured around the thematic related study module: Dramatis Personae. Drama: Play, Performance, Perception is an introduction to theater course consisting of 14 one-hour videotape productions. Each play, skillfully edited by BBC producers in order to maintain dramatic integrity, features cast members chosen from among Britain's finest performers. Mr. Jose Ferrar serves as host for the series, introducing each play with an articulate commentary. William (Bill) Hindman serves as narrator in this video. With its thematic orientation to the elements of the theater, the course fulfills the basic drama requirements of many colleges and universities. This program may be used as supplemental enrichment in literature, drama or other subject areas. |
