I was born in Yartsevo, and I came back there recently, with my camera, and a question that has accompanied me since my departure: what were we looking for when we embarked to leave the village where we were born? Quelque part au plus profond d'un grand pays, le long d'un grand fleuve entouré de forêts et de marais, se trouve un petit village sibérien. Sept mois par an, ce village, Yartsevo, devient inaccessible : on ne peut s'y rendre qu'en remontant lentement le cours du fleuve en bateau. Le temps semble alors s'y être arrêté. Je suis né à Yartsevo, et j'y suis revenu récemment, avec ma caméra, et une question qui m'accompagne depuis mon départ : que cherchions-nous quand nous embarquions pour quitter le village où nous sommes nés? |
